Dressmaking for Kids is a series of classes focused on learning techniques for garment construction. This is a great series for the child who loves fashion and wants to learn more about how to sew clothes! 

Each series will be focused on making a specific garment: top/blouse, skirt, pants, dresses. Students will LEARN a variety of techniques and PRACTICE the techniques to MAKE a simple garment. 

PREREQUISITE: Advanced Beginner, Intermediate 

Class Dates/Time: 

  • SATURDAYS, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • SKIRT: January 9, 16, 23
  • TOP: February 6, 20, 27
  • DRESS: March 5, 12, 19,
  • PANTS*: April 9, 16, 30 (NOTE: April 23 rescheduled to April 30)
  • PANTS BEGINNER: APRIL 9 & 16 (10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.) 

Class Duration: 3-class series, each class is 1.5 hours long

Age Group: For girls and boys* ages 8 and older

*Project can be adjusted for boys but will still have a garment focus

Skill Level: beginner and beyond

Fee:  3-class series is $75, materials not included.

Fabric Requirements: Students will need to bring their own fabric. (See requirements below.)
